Last summer, BrickUnderground investigated the dark side of high-efficiency washing machines—specifically, why the low-water machines (easy on apartment-building plumbing and the environment) sometimes leave your clothes smelling like cat pee (mold) and what you can do about it.

"As a landlord I find these [bed bug disclosure] laws ridiculous. To combat them I now require every new tenant to sign a statement swearing they have not lived in an apartment with bedbugs in the last year," writes a landlord on The Real Deal's website.  "If they say that they have I automatically decline the application.

This is going to make some co-op and condo sellers--and their brokers--very unhappy.
