Dear Ms. Demeanor: Should I tip the plumber?

Dear Ms. Demeanor,

Settle an argument for me - Do you tip a plumber?

Signed,

Plumb Stumped

Dear Plumb,

It depends on the plumber.  The plumber who is part of the team presently renovating my bathroom will not be getting a tip.  The building plumber should get a little extra for a job well and promptly done.  A private plumber who comes to your rescue on a night or weekend certainly deserves a tip and possibly a hug if he retrieves an engagement ring or other valuable.

Ms. D would like to give a special shoutout to her grandparents who called a REAL plumber to try to retrieve the pacifier that fell 'down the drain' (aka toilet) when she was two.  I cannot imagine what they would have done if he actually found it.

Flush ya later,

Ms. Demeanor
