Here's a rare opportunity to land a cheap rental in one of the city's most expensive neighborhoods: Applications are now open for affordable rentals at 70 Charlton Street, a new development on the western edge of Soho, per a listing on NYC Housing Connect.

The project is comprised of two buildings, one with high-end condos, and the other with 20 percent affordable housing, as YIMBY has reported. The cheapest condos at 70 Charlton go for more than $1.5 million, but with the 29 affordable rentals, prices start under $900/month—the full list of apartment sizes and prices, and income requirements, is below:

According to the listing, tenants in the affordable apartments will have access to the building's "landscaped courtyard, outdoor sports court, residents' lounge, and children's playroom" and, for extra fees, the pool, gym, and steam room. As usual for this kind of project, preference for half of the apartments will be given to current neighborhood residents, in this case of Manhattan's CB2.

If you're interested and think you qualify, you can apply online via NYC Housing Connect, or request a paper application by sending a selfaddressed envelope to 70 Charlton c/o Breaking Ground, PO Box 3620937, New York, NY 10129. Applications are due July 20th.
